A Mulberry Christmas Miracle

Every Holiday season, Mulberry launches a new campaign and a competition to win one of their bags for Christmas. This time around, the British designers have created a A Mulberry Miracle video, showcasing the new red Bayswater bag given to the lady from her husband. Once she receives it, passersby come in and take a look. It’s an ode to the baby Jesus and his birth. Mulberry Christmas Sale, Online and In Store

Mulberry has just started their Christmas sale online and in store. From the Mulberry site, you can find handbags, small leather goods, scarves, hats, shoes and ready to wear items. Mulberry’s signature handbags like AlexaBayswater and Del Rey are mostly at 30% discount. A few bags are also at 50% off like the Ostrich Alexa Bag and the Ostrich/Calfskin Willow Tote. Mulberry Hires Former Celine Accessories Designer as Creative Director

Mulberry has finally replaced it’s previous Creative Director Emma Hill, with former Head Accessories Designer of Celine’s, Johnny Coca. Mulberry has not made a hit bag since the Alexa, and their newest Cara Delevingne bag is really just recycling the classic Bayswater bag into a backpack, which means its about time they hired a new Creative Director. Their selection in Coca signals that the brand will continue to focus on bag and accessories designs as this is primarily where the profits are being made for the label. Mulberry has also tried to win back it’s previous followers by halting future price hikes, which alienated Mulberry fans in the first place. There has been no replacement yet for the company’s current CEO as the effort was first made to find a new Creative Director. More changes are expected to come at Mulberry, hopefully for the better resulting in renewed innovative bag designs in the future with the placement of Coca. He will start at Mulberry next year in July 28, 2015.

For Spring 2015, Mulberry Gets Its Groove Back

Mulberry’s various and sundry corporate challenges are well-documented and yet to be resolved, but London Fashion Week waits for no brand. For Spring 2015, the brand soldiered forth in a more subtle way than it has in recent years. Instead of a big production with global It Girl and brand ambassador Cara Delevingne, Mulberry put on a subtle presentation full of the kinds of pieces that made people Mulberry fans in the first place.

There were a few of the company’s popular Bayswater bags on display in preppy, spring-appropriate finishes and colors, but the star of the show was a pared-down, chain-strapped shoulder bag called the Delphie, which Mulberry claims can be worn six ways but is probably most recognizable as a small shoulder bag that can be easily converted into a medium-size clutch. Instead of the signature large turnlock closure, it featured a smaller, more modern metal button that, while bearing the Mulberrylogo, was less in-your-face than the Mulberry of the recent past.
